Flori is a word that means “flower” — and it’s also the name of my grandmother, Florence, whom I never got to meet. She was a social worker, an activist, and a woman who loved Israel with all her heart.
This is the first piece of jewelry I’ve created since the war began — after a long period in which I couldn’t, or simply didn’t feel the urge, to go to the studio and create.
The name Flori holds both meanings for me – the gentle softness of a flower blooming after the rain, and the quiet resilience of a woman whose presence is felt even from afar.
A piece born out of stillness, pain, and a small beginning of hope.
